The AAA Michigan donation of $28,000 to the Detroit Public Schools Foundation will help fund the “Safe Routes” program in 14 key school zones to ensure the safety and security of children and their families as they walk to and from schools and bus stops. The money will pay for gas cards for volunteers to drive around schools and reflective safety vests for volunteers on foot patrols.
