As we bring in 2021, we want to share exciting DPS Foundation news on our Board of Directors. We welcome our new Chair, Beth Correa who serves as Senior Vice President of Community Affairs and Quality at Flagstar Bank, Inc. with more than 20 years of banking experience. Director Correa has served on our board since 2014. Chair Correa replaced Jerome R. Watson, Attorney and Counselor at Law, Miller Canfield, who stepped down after 5 years of leading the board through major transitions and growth. He is a founder of our organization and will continue to serve on our Executive Committee as an At-Large Member.
New Officers include Treasurer, Gwen Hatten Butler, President and Chief Investment Officer, Capri Investment Group, and Secretary Shawn Wilson, President and Chief Executive Officer, Boys & Girls Clubs of Southeastern Michigan.
A huge congratulations goes to our Board member Angelique Peterson-Mayberry on becoming the Board President of the Detroit Public Schools Community School District. She is Director of Community Relations for the UAW-Ford Department at Ford Motor Company. As a Detroit Public Schools alumnae and mother of DPSCD children, we value the various perspectives and passion she brings to the board room.
