Thank You. The 2015 Champions of Education evening exceeded all of our expectations. Thanks to an outstanding Host Committee, there were more than 260 guests in attendance, and the fund raising goal was achieved. Our honorees were appropriately acknowledged and new friends were made for the Foundation.

In addition to honoring Edward Deeb, Rochelle Riley, and Matt Simoncini for their various commitments to education, we also learned about some of the exciting science projects that are occurring in our schools. We are grateful for the showcase presented by Burton International, Bates Academy, Cass Tech, the Children’s Museum, Renaissance High, and Athletes for Charity.  Their science displays demonstrated the positive learning that is taking place in the classroom every day.

Special thanks is also due to the students who provided the entertainment for the evening. The All City Jazz Combo, Vision male chorus, and the Renaissance High School String Ensemble performed to much applause. Our volunteers from Teach for America and many others contributed to the success of the evening.

No event of this kind is successful without generous sponsors. Special thanks to the Lear Corporation, The Ford Motor Company Fund, MGM Grand Detroit Hotel, ABC Student Transportation, Wayne County Community College District, Operating Engineers ,Local 324, Flagstar Bank, US Metro Group, and Signature Consultants, LLC. Their sponsorship along with others made a difference in our ability to achieve the goal of the evening.
