[/column] [column type=”2/3″ last=”true”] At its meeting on June 19, 2014, the DPS Foundation Board of Directors adopted a new program of Donor Recognition. This activity entitled Champions of Education is designed to acknowledge and thank, in a special way, those donors who have made a special contribution to the work of the Foundation. These individuals or organizations will be recognized for their commitment to the education of Detroit students. These may be consistent long term donors, or they may be donors who have made a significant dollar contribution, or they may be donors who have assisted the Foundation in leveraging their donations with other new and/or potential donors. The Champions of Education award will be presented annually at a Donor Recognition event. Mark your calendars for the first event to occur on Friday, October 10, 2014. This will be a special inaugural evening.
