The Detroit Public Schools Foundation was happy to sponsor the 9th Annual Spring Concert for the Detroit Children’s Choir on Saturday, May 9, 2015 at the Orchestra Hall.

The Detroit Children’s Choir is committed to developing young leaders who will bring about positive change in the city of Detroit. It is made up of 300+ children, ages 8-18, who have a passion and love for singing. Choir members come from a variety of cities in Southeast Michigan, representing a range of diverse cultures and backgrounds.

The Detroit Children’s Choir is dedicated to helping children to reach their limitless potential through choral music education. Children receive music literacy, sight reading skills and vocal technique along with the opportunity to perform on stages in the Detroit metro area. The music is selected to engage children in singing, including a wide variety of music of American heritage, classic children’s choral works, and texts in foreign languages.

This Annual Spring Concert is the largest Detroit Children’s Choir public event of the year and the only time the community can see and hear all of the choirs in one place. The event is always a great display of Detroit Public Schools students and students in the metro Detroit area.
