The beginning of each school year offers many hopes, great opportunities, much promise, and new approaches to the teaching and learning process. We begin with optimism for a productive year ahead, and determination to make this year better than last.

The Board and staff of the Detroit Public Schools Foundation enters the 2013-2014 school year with many wishes for DPS. We wish that:

  • Every student grows in his her love of learning;
  • Each teacher retains the excitement and energy throughout the year that they have on day one;
  • Parents and care givers share the joy of learning with their children;
  • The community embraces the schools and ensures that every child has the opportunity to reach his or her full potential;
  • The resources are available to deliver the highest quality of educational experiences in each school each day; and
  • Every school is a safe, caring, comfortable place that nurtures the intellect of everyone in the building.

These wishes will come true with the generosity and support you can provide through your contributions to the Foundation. Please help make them a reality.
