Each year in December, while students are thinking about finishing up classes before enjoying a holiday break, grown-ups who are able are thinking about how they can support their favorite causes before the end of the year.
This year, we launched our Give Back To Detroit Schools annual appeal at the start of the school year. We have been pleased with the generosity of so many who care so much about the students in Detroit, seizing an opportunity to do something positive for the future of the city.

We appreciate everyone who is joining us in our mission to support successful programs that benefit the students of Detroit. From early childhood programs to provide students with a strong base of learning to “STEM” (science, technology, engineering and math) opportunities that will help keep students competitive into the future to the fine and performing arts, which help round out a complete education, the Foundation is about to enrich the lives of thousands of students. It is only through individual philanthropy that we can build on the generosity of our corporate donors to continue funding these programs.
As I head into my first Holiday Season as President of the Foundation, I thank you for your interest in our work and appreciate the contributions from Detroit, the Metro Area and across the country. I look forward to updating you on our progress in 2013.
