Job Opportunity: Development Director

Position Summary:
The Development Director at the DPS Foundation works closely with the President and CEO to identify funding strategies, cultivate donors, and solicit gifts to ensure the achievement of annual development goals and objectives.

 

Major Duties:

  1. Provide excellent service to internal and external customers
  2. Provide input to senior leadership and board to establish long- and short-range development goals in conjunction with the strategic plan, mission, and DPSCD priorities
  3.  Assist with designing, implementing, and evaluating comprehensive development strategies and programs
  4.  Identify and build relationships with existing and potential donors and funders
  5. Prepare grant applications and manage all aspects of the pre-and post-process
  6. Assist with the evaluation of proposals submitted for funding
  7. Utilize prospect management tools and other available resources to ensure effective management of development activities
  8. Create and maintain systems to ensure accurate and up-to-date donor information
  9. Provide leadership with respect to development communications and marketing
  10. Perform other related duties as assigned

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (in related field) or commensurate experience
  • Five years of development, and grant writing experience
  • Excellent public speaking, written, and interpersonal communications skills
  • Technical Knowledge (Microsoft Office, social media or web-based communication, and database management (Donor Perfect preferred))
  • Ability to work flexible hours and attend fundraisers
  • Highly organized and self-directed
  • Must have personal transportation – field work required
