July 25th was National Parent’s Day and we salute our dedicated Detroit Public Schools Community District (DPSCD) parents! They volunteer in classrooms, at after school and weekend events, and this past school year, signed up during school closure periods for door knocking and canvassing to find missing students. They are champions for all children, participate in the Parent Teacher Association (PTA), and advocate for needed resources that will provide a quality education for our deserving students.

highlighting DPSCD Parents and the Home Visit Program. The DPS Foundation proudly administers a parent engagement program grant provided by the W.K. Kellogg Foundation that provides Kindergarten Bootcamp activities for students and parents, Parent-Teacher Home Visits and our wonderful Parent Academy, offering free resources, services and workforce training. This summer DPSCD is hosting Summer on the Block neighborhood programs that provide safe activities, free food, fun packs for kids, and more.
