The Obsidian Theatre Festival - Nicely Theatre and GhostLight Productions

March 19, 2021

The Nicely Theatre Group, a DPS Foundation supporter, has partnered with John Sloan III and Joshua Cashman through GhostLight Productions (of which John is Founder and CEO) to produce the ”Obsidian Theatre Festival.”  The Obsidian Theatre Festival (https://www.obsidianfest.org/) is a virtual celebration of Black Stories featuring the works of Black Artists. The idea is to entertain, educate and provoke the thought of a wide audience. The festival will take place over three days–with the presentation of 5-10 theatrical works, plus panels, discussions and other related programming.  The Festival will be presented free of charge on March 25–27, 2021.

We are excited to again partner with The Nicely Theatre Group which encourages patrons to donate to the DPS Foundation, an independent 501(c) (3) entity that raises money for the arts and other priorities for Detroit Public Schools Community District students, families and educators.
